Ranabaali has picked up strong momentum in the last 24 hours. Vijay Deverakonda’s period action drama has reached $129K in USA premiere pre-sales, with two days still to go for the premieres. With the final rush yet to come, the film is now expected to open with $400K+ premieres in the USA.
A 70 Percent Jump in One Day
Just a day ago, Ranabaali’s USA premiere pre-sales stood at $76K. In 24 hours, the film has added around $53K, a growth of about 70 percent. Ticket sales have grown at the same pace, from 4,350 to 7,226.
The film is also expanding fast. Ranabaali is now playing across 467 shows in 270 theatres, up from 308 shows in 180 theatres yesterday.
Ahead of Jailer 2 Telugu
The biggest takeaway from today’s numbers is in the Telugu race. Ranabaali’s $129K is now ahead of the Telugu version of Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, which closed its USA premiere pre-sales at $121.7K.
Two days ago, Jailer 2 Telugu was ahead by around $19K. Ranabaali has not only closed that gap but moved ahead, and it still has one extra day of bookings left before its premieres.
AMC Drives the Surge
AMC has been the biggest driver of the jump. The chain added more than $25K in a single day, going from $14.9K to $40.2K, and it continues to post the strongest occupancy among the major chains at 28.9 percent.
- USA Premiere Pre-Sales by Chain:
- Cinemark: $43.3K
- AMC: $40.2K
- Regal: $35.3K
$400K+ Premieres Expected
Telugu films usually see their biggest jumps in the final hours before the premieres, and Ranabaali is now trending in the right direction. With the current momentum, the film is expected to open with $400K+ premieres in the USA.
That is still well below Vijay Deverakonda’s last film Kingdom, which registered $930K from its USA premieres. But considering how slow the bookings were just a few days ago, the turnaround is a positive sign.
India Bookings Open Fully Today
In India, full-fledged bookings are opening today. Ranabaali’s advances in India are expected to be better than overseas, and a clear picture will emerge over the next few hours.
The pre-release event held yesterday in Hyderabad, along with Vijay’s fans meet, has helped lift the buzz, and the momentum is now building in the final stretch.
Ranabaali releases worldwide on October 16 in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada, with USA premieres on October 15. The film has a U/A certificate and a runtime of 170 minutes. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, it stars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, with music by Ajay-Atul.
